WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED?

No developer required for most Fishbowl setups.
Technical setup details
Before you begin the Setup Wizard, here are the four things you need to have on hand.
YOUR FISHBOWL SERVER URL
This is the address Truss uses to connect to your Fishbowl. It looks like one of these:
- Self-hosted (LAN):
http://your-public-ip:28192 - Fishbowl Hosted Services:
https://yourcompany.fishbowlhosting.com
Don't know it? Check the Fishbowl login screen on your computer — it's usually pre-filled there. If not, check with whoever set up Fishbowl for your company.
YOUR PERSONAL FISHBOWL USERNAME & PASSWORD
Use your individual Fishbowl login, not a shared account.
This matters because every order you sync through Truss gets logged in Fishbowl under your name, giving your business a clean audit trail.
ADMIN ACCESS IN FISHBOWL
During setup you'll need to approve Truss as an integrated app inside Fishbowl. This is a one-time action that takes about 30 seconds.
If you're not a Fishbowl admin, ask your administrator to do this step before you begin.
YOUR FISHBOWL SERVER MUST BE REACHABLE FROM THE INTERNET
If your Fishbowl runs on your office network, port 2456 or 28192 needs to be open on your router — check your Fishbowl Server settings under the API tab to confirm yours.
Tip: Ask your IT person if you have a Static IP. If your IP address changes after a router reboot, Truss may lose the connection and you'll need to update your Server URL in Settings.
If you use Fishbowl Hosted Services, this is already handled — your server is publicly reachable and no port forwarding is needed.
